Heroes Are Made Not Born
In the 30's in particular, one or the other of the Poverty Row studios would make a fireman's pictrure at least once a year. This one has just the right combination of blarney and stock footage complete with wailing sirens to keep your interest. It also has some interesting pluses besides. Joyce Compton is the female lead and while better known as a light comedienne in a lot of her pictures over a very long career. Probably best known as Nat Pendleton's girlfriend in the Bela Lugosi film "SCared To Death", she is quite good and extremely beautiful in this film, given what she has to work with.
Norman Foster, an actor in "A" and "B" pictures starting in silents is quite good too, but after this film, he became a "B" director at Fox and had a very long career as a director, and whose credits might shock you. He also was married to long time star Sally Blane until his death. This a very enjoyable little picture, given what it is. Highly watchable. Picture and sound quality s superior in a MPEQ-4 download. Not just for buffs only. Enjoy.
